HAPPY BIRTHDAY BROOKE

I wanted to share a card that I made for my niece Brooke. She, like most of my family is a huge New England Patriot football fan.This is the card front laying flat.

Here is what the card looks like from above. Cool huh. My niece did get this card in the mail today and immediately sent me a text. She loved it :) Happy Birthday Brooke, sorry it was late. But I think it was worth the wait.

YOU MAKE MY LIFE SPARKLE

Hello again. I just wanted to share one more Independence Day project with you. The summer is moving so fast.

 

Here is page 1 of this two page scrapbook layout. All the photo mats and borders are machine stitched. Both pages also have a pull out photo mat. 

 Here is page 2. I love how the 'sparkle' part of the title came out. I added silver stickles to the bare chipboard letters and then outlined them with blue stickles. They really sparkle!

 

How darling are these two in their fabric patriotic dresses? Each bear is hand torn by me, and made from multiply layers of mulberry paper.

I'M YOUR BIGGEST FAN

This is my very first single page scrapbook layout ever. I have been wanted to attempt these for months now and finally got up the courage to try.

Even though this is only one page it has a lot going on...It contains SIX different pattern sets from Designs on Cloud 9. The base of this page is made from the 'scallop set'. I also used the 'basic bear', the fan from the 'biggest fan card', flower #8 from the 'fancy flower', the sara swirl (underneath the flowers) and the 'photo mat fun' pattern sets.

                                Here is a close up of the title.

The two photo mats are stitched with decorative stitching and has ribbon attached but not glued down so pictures can easily be slid underneath. How great is this paper huh?

    Here is a close up of the bear with the ribbon under his chin.

    Here is a shot of the same bear with the ribbon on top for a more girlie look.

 And of course a picture of the bear 'naked' with no bow at all.

How gorgeous is this flower? It took some time to make, but so worth it!

I made this yellow flower just a little bit smaller than the blue one. I love the shine of it. So pretty!

DUCK TAPE PURSE

I wanted to share some pictures of a 'non-paper' craft that I did yesterday with my 11 year old neice. She picked out the cupcake & pink zebra print duck tape, along with the black purse handles and then asked if we could attach pink eyelash yarn to the top.

How cute is this huh?

This is a picture of the inside ~ complete with a cell phone (which she does not have) compartment.
We are so happy with how great this came out, especially for not having a pattern to go by. I honestly think it looks more like a fabric quilted bag than duct tape. Way to go Felicia :)

LEMONADE BLOG HOP

Summertime! What better time than to kick back with a cool drink of lemonade?  Pure and sweet, sour and refreshing all at the same time -- it's a summer staple and something we're celebrating with this Lemonade Blog Hop.

Let me show you my project that I created for this hop:

 This is a two page 12x12 scrapbook layout using 'the lemonade stand' pattern set, the 'photo mat fun' set as well as the dollar bill pattern from the 'chilly treats' set from Designs on Cloud 9.

 Here is page 2. I used the Martha Stewart butterfly border punch on both pages.

I love how the green letters looks laid on top of the black.  It really makes this title pop.

 

I used foam tape under the seeds of the lemon slices in both titles to give it a 3D effect.

 How cute is this stand? I used vellum for the drinking glasses as well as the pitcher for a frosted look.

I just love her!!! 

Look at this cool dude with his baseball hat on backwards. This puppy is so cute ~ looks a little bit like my long haired dachshund!

I wanted to show a close up picture of the photo mats. Did you notice the $ dollar sign $ paper to coordinate with the orange/lemon slice paper? I also did decorative machine stitching on the outer edges of
each mat. I almost went with a dark green thread, and now I wish I had. Unfortunately, you can barely see the yellow thread. Next time I will know. Thank you so much for looking and please feel free to leave a comment. I love getting feedback.

TWO SPECIAL THANK YOU CARDS

I have been so busy with cookouts, parties, road races that it is hard to believe that Independence Day was a week ago tomorrow. I wanted to share two 'thank you/4TH of July' cards that I made for two of my 'besties'. A few posts ago, I showed you a fabulous USA banner that Staci made me ~ one of these cards is for her. The other card is for a very special friend of mine Patricia who has been such a huge support to me since I started my blog and facebook fan page on October 1st. I wanted to make her something to show my appreciation for all that she has done for me.

These are easel cards featuring an American Eagle from Precious Piecings. I used a EK Success star corner and border punch on the white card stock.

Here is a picture of the cards open. I am also including some extra embellishments that I made for them. I made these by using two different Martha Stewart corner punches. (I have a tutorial a few postings back.)

I just love the color combo on these. Some have pearls in the middle and I left some plain. I hope my friends love both the card as well as the flowers I am including. I really do appreciate their friendship :) Thanks for everything ladies!

CHRISTMAS IN JULY CARD BLOG HOP

I am so excited to share a bit of Christmas with this easel card I made.

I think it is funny that this picture came out so foggy because of the humidity here in Massachusetts. I don't think that has ever been a problem with taking Christmas photos. Let's hope we have similar weather on December 25th, but somehow I doubt it for New England.

Here is a close up of the front. How cute is this little guy? The green mat is machine stitched onto the white mat. (I need to practice a bit more using this type of decorative stitch.) Then, I hot glued a floral pic in the upper right corner. Do you believe that I was at Michael's Arts and Craft yesterday and they already had their Christmas floral pics out? Yikes.

This is a picture of the card fully open. I used a Martha Stewart border punch on both of the white mats. Again, I machine stitched both mats and added another sparkly floral pic on the bottom left corner.
