Seasons Greetings. Most likely you have just come from Zenita's blog but if not, here is her address http://www.scrappinwithz.blogspot.com/
I am so excited to share a bit of Christmas with this easel card I made.
I think it is funny that this picture came out so foggy because of the humidity here in Massachusetts. I don't think that has ever been a problem with taking Christmas photos. Let's hope we have similar weather on December 25th, but somehow I doubt it for New England.
Here is a close up of the front. How cute is this little guy? The green mat is machine stitched onto the white mat. (I need to practice a bit more using this type of decorative stitch.) Then, I hot glued a floral pic in the upper right corner. Do you believe that I was at Michael's Arts and Craft yesterday and they already had their Christmas floral pics out? Yikes.
This is a picture of the card fully open. I used a Martha Stewart border punch on both of the white mats. Again, I machine stitched both mats and added another sparkly floral pic on the bottom left corner.
Unfortunately, the pictures do not do this card justice. It is actually very bright and colorful. Thanks so much for looking. Now onto more hoppin... off to Pam's blog http://mzlavr2.blogspot.com/
Make sure to check out the whole hop and leave a comment because Ashley, our host will be giving one lucky person some great blog candy. Here is a list of the complete lists of blogs in case you missed someone...

DeleteEek! I thought it was super cute because of the penguin [my whole family LOVES penguins] but then it's even cooler that it's an easel card! Lol. I've seen a few people make them, but never tried it myself. Seems like a great way to display a beautiful card like that darling penguin.

DeleteYour card is so adorable. I love the little penguin and the stitching you did adds the perfect touch.
ReplyDeleteracincrafts at aim dot com
Thanks so much for the comments Carla. I have gotten in the habit of using one particular stitch setting on my machine and I really need to break away into different ones. So I tried a different one with this card, and realized that I really need more practice :)

ReplyDeleteAshley
Thanks so much for the compliments Ashley, that means a lot coming from you :) Thanks also for hosting such a great hop!
DeleteI love your card, it looks great and the penguin is super cute! I complained to my husband when my local store was already done setting out christmas items last month. What happened to the holidays inbetween!? Anyway happy hopping, thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI so agree with you CarlyJo. I hate winter so I want summer to last as long as possible. When they put all the fall/winter stuff out early it just makes the summer seem so short. I hate that.
DeleteAdorable! Love the layout and colors :)

ReplyDeleteLesley @ Trendy Twine
Thanks so much. I actually have a 'love-hate' relationship with my sewing machine. It was a 'replacement' for a machine that I had for ages. This new one and I have gotten in a few 'disagreements' but hopefully have our issues settled. Come back anytime.
DeleteLove the card!! I'm so with you the humidity made it hard to think about Christmas but it will be coming soon!!
