FALL

Hello everyone. I wanted to share a little one page project that I made for 'fall'.

It features a few different pattern sets from Designs on Cloud 9 ~ 'fall crows' 'photo mat fun' and this weeks free file 'fall' title.
Here is a close up of the sunflowers. I creased each petal to give it a 3D look. I tried doing the centers a few different ways and finally decided on this type with stickles.
Look how cute these two are. I love their skinny little legs.
Once again I machine sewn the two photo/journal mats with decorative stitching. I am really liking my sewing machine lately :)
Thanks so much for looking. On top of my 'to do list' for tomorrow is to take out all my Halloween scrapping stuff. Halloween is by far my most favorite holiday. Each year I find that there is just NOT enough time to do all the Halloween crafting/creating I want. So I want to get a jump on it. Stay tuned for some awesome stuff to come!!

Here is a cutie with a comb and bottle of nail polish.
Here is a compact with powder puff and brush.
This is my most favorite part of this layout...I love the colors of this eye shadow set and mascara. Thanks so much for looking.

My project for today is something that I have been wanting to do for years so thank you to Shannon for hosting this event! I created a make-up/cosmetic board. I am addicted to make-up, and make-up tutorials. There is just something about looking brighter, having sparkles or just feeling a bit better about yourself. So here we go...
I started out with a plain white magnetic dry erase board that I purchased at Walmart. I wanted something that was a good size but did not overpower my bedroom wall. Plus I wanted to still be able to use the erase part of the board for inspirational quotes or tracking. (I am currently trying to lose weight to take my niece to the NY Trapeze school. I am within 4 pounds of the weight limit. I can really use this space as a constant reminder why I am doing this and how close I really am!!) This is a 13x13.
Then, I glued on the most amazing sheet of purple scrapbooking paper I could find. I just love this.
This is a better picture of the pretty swirls of glitter. So pretty!
Next, I added two vintage doilies that I got at an antique shop. They were a $1, how can you go wrong? I glued them slightly off center so the pretty lace edges would over hang.

Then, I made these beautiful flowers from Designs on Cloud 9. How awesome are these huh? The base is from the 'fancy flower' set then the rose on top is from the 'curly flower' set.

I added more amazing flowers that I created with the 'fancy flower' set. I have been making a ton of these flowers lately. I just love all the different shades of purples.
I added little deep purple roses with pearls in the centers just to tie the flowers all together. I also added ribbon and pearl loops just to dress it up a bit.
I hot glued a ribbon to the back of the board for hanging. This is the project completed before I added all my make-up pieces.

I glued heavy duty magnets that I purchased at Michael's Arts & Crafts to my cosmetics even my fake eyelashes from Mac.
This is my make up table area. I just love how it looks. It matches perfectly with my white furniture and purple walls. My sister was here last week from out of town, she saw my board and said 'oh that would be perfect in my sewing room'. (I guess I know what she will be getting for Christmas.) So if make-up is not your thing, you can always make one of these for a different hobby or craft. Thanks so much for looking now onto your next stop http://pinkpolkadotscrapping.blogspot.com

RECYCLE/REUSE BLOG HOP

Hello everyone and welcome to the Recycle/Reuse Blog Hop. This hop is all about pulling out that garbage or the old stuff that has been sitting around forever and creating a wonderful project. We have Scrapbook Stamp society sponsoring us today. They are giving away 3 free digi stamps. I will also be giving away a set of flowers of my choosing from my Etsy store  that you can visit here www.etsy.com/shannleffew2/shop

Here is my project...
A friend of mine's 12 year old Boxer passed away last week. I felt so awful and wanted to do 'something' for her. I decided to make homemade cranberry/white chip cookies. Instead of putting them in an expensive container that she would have to wash or return, I went with a clean empty altered plastic container instead.  I used the 'scallop' pattern set from Designs on Cloud 9 to cut a large circle big enough to cover the company logo on the lid. I then made two pretty flowers using the 'fancy flower' set also from Designs on Cloud 9.
I glued those to the center of the lid, and filled it with yummy cookies.
Thank you so much for looking. Please stop by and say hi on each blog to be entered to win the contest. Here is the lineup in case you get lost along the way.

YOU LIGHT UP MY LIFE easel card

How great is this easel card? I made it for my brother in appreciation of all the things he does for me. I used the pattern from Designs on Cloud 9. I found the glass light bulb container at A.C. Moore for $1!! I filled it with buttered flavored popcorn jelly beans!!
Here is the card front. I just love how fuzzy this cutie is. I used multiply layers of mulberry paper. The background paper 'lacy' look was created with a Martha Stewart border punch.
Here is a picture of the card open flat. I just love it, and more importantly he did too!!

INSTA~CUTIE

Hello again. Welcome to my blog again. I just wanted to share a new layout with you. It is from Designs on Cloud 9 titled 'insta-cutie'. I also used the 'photo mat fun' pattern as well.
Page 2
How cute is this guy holding the sign? For those of you that are too young to know... that is an old polaroid camera that he is leaning on.
Here is a close up of the title. I added yellow stickles to each letter.
Here is another cutie sitting pretty on a negative film strip.
Just about him is a cute little photo album that does actually open. It contains several pages for extra journaling or photos. I also included a little photo envelope ~ just like the one that contained your photos and negatives when you picked them up at the store. This envelope holds several small shots as well as negatives.
Then here is a close up of the title on page two. I also added stickles to each letter as well as to the block of cheese. Thanks so much for looking. I hope everyone is enjoying their summer ~ get out there and do something before it is gone!!

CUPCAKE WATERFALL CARD

Hello and welcome back. I wanted to share a cupcake 'waterfall' card that I made this week. (I actually have made 3 different ones this week ~ Happy birthday Mrs. Kennedy, Courtney and Gregory.) I could make 100 of these and never get tired of them. It was priceless to see the amazement on Courtney's face when she pulled on the ribbon and saw her card 'come to life'.
As you pull on the ribbon tab at the bottom, each cupcake flips up to reveal the next cupcake.
This card is actually super easy to make, but looks so complicated. The pattern is from SVG Cuts.
Thanks for looking. Stay tuned for more 'waterfall' cards to come. (I think next time I will include a video so you can see one in action!)

TIKI BAR LANTERN

Hello and welcome to August. I wanted to share a summer project with you that I absolutely LOVE. This lantern is completely made of paper.
I used the 'summer lantern', 'basic bear', and the 'luau' patterns from Designs on Cloud 9.
I love how these little lanterns came out. and of course the refreshing drinks are a must at a tiki bar.
Look at this hulu girl!!! I love her coconut bra, grass skirt and lei.
Here is a close up of the tiki torches.
Did you notice the sand on the bottom of all four sides? It is actual beach sand from Clearwater Florida.

Thank you so much for looking. I hope you all enjoy the rest of summer. Get out there and do something fun before it's gone.
