HAPPY NEW YEAR'S EVE

Hi folks, I wanted to close out the year by sharing a cute project that I did for one of nephews.

This is Aaron. I asked him a month ago what he wanted for Christmas. He told me that 'his interests change like the weather so cash would be best'. haha. That kid!!! So I went to my local pizza shop and ordered a pizza with an extra box on the side.

I cut the top of the box with the pizza into a circle. Then I wrapped that with Christmas paper. I then used glue dots to assemble the dollar bills and the quarters on top. I stuck the bow in the middle. The sign in the top of the box was my first attempt at hand lettering. I was so proud of myself for how awesome it came out. Aaron actually removed the sign from the box and stuck it on his bedroom door.

I hope everyone had a great holiday season as well as 2016.

DAY 25 FROM 'THE 25 DAYS OF HARRY POTTER ADVENT CALENDAR'

Merry Christmas everyone. I have the final day here from 'the 25 days of Harry Potter advent calendar...

I am just realizing that it would have been so much easier for you to see this gem if I had only just taken a video. Anyway, this is a lantern that I bought from AC Moore.

I started with this plain lantern. Then, added some trees from a railroad set. I found some rocks and spanish moss at the dollars store. I bought this cool mini cooper (which my niece drives) that was red but I painted light blue. Finally, I found this cool plastic owl to put on top.

Inside I hot glued trees, rocks and spanish moss. After I painted the car, I hung it from the top with fishing line.

Finally, I hot glued the owl in place and cut some vinyl for the front. I love how awesome it looks.

Thanks so much for looking. I hope you all enjoyed this advent calendar.

DAY 23 FROM 'THE 25 DAYS OF HARRY POTTER ADVENT CALENDAR'

Merry Christmas Eve Eve! Day 23 from the '25 Days of Harry Potter advent calendar' does not disappoint...

Look at this mandrake I made from scratch. Haha

I actually started out with paper wrapped in tin foil (a lot of tin foil). I added the fake leaves to the top.

I added the eyes (which are beads) and rope for hands and feet. Then, covered it with drywall plaster.

Then I covered the plants with a plastic bag while I spray painted the body.

After he dried, I stuck him in this pot and filled it with stone. I found the pot label on Pinterest as a free printable. Finally, I painted his eyes to give him a mad screaming look. Haha. It was a lot of work, but I love him.

DAY 22 FROM 'THE 25 DAYS OF HARRY POTTER ADVENT CALENDAR'

Greetings, I have Day 22 here for you from the 25 Days of Harry Potter...

I love this sign. I think I painted it 25 times and still not happy with it.

Here is a close up of the top half...

Here is a close up of the bottom half. I need to practice with this type of project more. I think it would have come out much better if I used tranfer paper instead of blue painters tape. I will just have to make one for myself for more practice :)

DAY 22 FROM 'THE GREETING CARD ADVENT CALENDAR'

Greetings, I have Day 22 here from the greeting card advent calendar...

I created another slider card featuring this adorable stamp. My Mom bought me this stamp several years ago at a yard sale and I just never used it. I have always wanted to, but just never had the time. I think I would just leave it black and white the next time I use it. I think the coloring job I did ruined. But still a cute card. Thanks for looking. Come back tomorrow for something really cute I have in store.

DAY 20 FROM 'THE 25 DAYS OF HARRY POTTER ADVENT CALENDAR'

Hi everyone. Here is the Day 20 from the Harry Potter advent calendar...

I found this wooden tray at Michael's a few months back. I cut and applied the vinyl to the inside.

Then, I applied a epoxy to the inside to give it a glass like top. Of course as I am pouring it in the light bulb goes off in my head, I should have included my niece's name to make it more personal. UGH. Just a few minutes too late. But she loved it anyway. Thanks so much for looking. Just wait til you see what is in store for tomorrow!!!

Then I attached the rope along the bottom with a staple gun and added clothes pins.

DAY 17 FROM 'THE 25 DAYS OF HARRY POTTER ADVENT CALENDAR'

Hi again. Can you believe that it is Day 17 from 'the 25 days of Harry Potter advent calendar'? We are in the home stretch. Here it is...

I found these cool printable notebook covers on Pinterest.
(This is the link I used...http://www.polkadotchair.com/2016/07/diy-hogwarts-house-notebooks-a-harry-potter-craft-idea.html)

I started with blank composition notebooks that I got on clearance at the end of September. Then printed out the covers, glued in place and then trimmed the edges. It was that super easy.

This is a close up of the labels on the fronts.

On the backs I put a picture of each shield. Just because I thought they looked too plain. That is it. Super easy and super fun. Thanks for looking.

DAY 16 FROM 'THE 25 DAYS OF HARRY POTTER ADVENT CALENDAR'

Something that most people don't know about me is that I love to paint. Given that, I am NOT a good painter. I think I just dont do it enough to master my skills. Day 16 of 'the 25 days of Harry Potter advent calendar brought out my paints.

These are giant clothes pins.

I started with just plain clothes pins.

Here is Harry and Ron.

Here is Hermione and Albus Dumbledore.

Finally I sprayed them with a clear sealer. Even though they look like a 5 year old did them, I know she will like them because they were done with love.
